I’m on business travel in San Diego, CA this week, attending a small business conference as well as some meetings and training sessions. Although we try and make the most of what little free time we have, it’s a pretty busy week with long days. As a result I’ve found that it’s tough to make room for much blogging when I travel.
This morning, though, I do have time to show you how I recently organized my ribbon scraps.
When cleaning up my craft storage shortly after the wedding, I had a pile of ribbon scraps that were long enough to save, but not long enough to justify keeping them on the cardboard rolls they came on.
First I stuffed them all in a jar, but it was still too jumbled for my taste.
Somehow I got the idea to grab some of my spare wine corks, roll the ribbon bits up around them, and secure them with a pin.
It worked like a charm, and then I took way too many photos in all my excitement.
Yep, it’s just that simple. I love it when I think of a free and simple solution to an organizing project!

And I’m doing this. I have so many corks laying around (we’re not wine-os, I’ve just been collecting them for so long!) and lots of little ribbon scraps. Thanks for the inspiration Jane!
That’s genius and takes up less space! I’m doing this with my ribbons & lace and thinking of putting them in either a mason jar or clear or pretty, shallow bowl. Always great to store stuff in less space. Thanks!
Barb – thank you so much! Glad to help 🙂
