I’m really loving natural and slightly-unnatural branches in home decor right now. There’s really an artistic aspect to branches – and what a great seasonal alternative to flowers when you’re stuck in the dead of winter!
I’ve started copying a few ideas, with a large branch from my yard stuck in a vase alongside my DIY holiday votives. I’m hoping to spray it, and some others, silver for the holidays. I am loving the Manzanita Advent Tree created by Kate at Centsational Girl!
If I get super creative, I may try and wrap just a few LED lights around it to create a lighting effect inspired by this chandelier:
This example is technically an “Easter Cube Tree,” but it’s pretty much a twist on Kate’s Advent Tree idea.
I’m even drooling over this wedding cake from – who else – Martha Stewart Living. And the little touch of birds just – well, pardon the pun – “takes the cake!”
I guess you’d say that right now I’m just stuck on sticks. Are you? Or do you think that branches are only for the birds?

[…] I mentioned last week, I looove almost any decor that incorporates sticks or branches, especially glittery ones. Thus […]
I love sticks, too!!! Always have! In fact, I used to have this huge stick arrangement in a vase in my house. I’ll have to send you a picture of if I ever run across one!
Oh and I absolutely love that idea of the LED lights taped to that branch!! Is there a tutorial??? I’m feelin’ kinda crafty these days. It’s been a while since I have. Maybe you’re inspiring me! 🙂
