FRIDAY
Early morning cappuccino from Caffe Amouri, because I’m in the mood to mix things up a bit.
While I get my caffeine fix, I catch up on the Seaside Heights / Jersey Shore boardwalk fire news. It’s an utter disaster and it breaks my heart, I might say more so than the hurricane did last year. Because not only is this very boardwalk a special place for us, it’s also lined with small, family-owned businesses who were just starting to get back on their feet after the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy. Ryan is even more upset, because it’s been a special place for his family vacations since he was a kid.
I give the frothy lid of the cappuccino to the Doctor to lick clean. He’s happy.
Proceed to work all morning.
Lunch break: snap some photos of my sewing studio in action, and share in a random stream-of-consciousness blog post with the updated photos.
Back to work.
Late afternoon, feeling antsy: Rearrange pillows and determine that I could set a new trend in home decor arrangement. Not.
5 pm, start sewing.Later in the evening, run to pick up food for us. We’re eating dinner separately so I can keep working. Thai for me – love the seafood salad with calamari. Dessert: a macaroon from the pastry shop that just happens to be next to the Thai place. . . and some more green iced tea.
Discover the show Revenge, which powers me through sewing until around midnight. Then curl up in bed for some reading (Half the Sky) before passing out.
SATURDAY
Up early because I’m heading to a team retreat for work.
Shocked by the recumbent bicyclist in front of me. I don’t mind regular bikers, but these freak me out because they’re harder to see in traffic.
There are no photos from the weekend because it was work related.
So. . . how was this Week in the Life challenge? Exhausting! It was interesting to see how busy my days are. Now I see why I’m often feeling worn out.

I am LOVING the sideways pillows. I can totally see this going viral on Pinterest, my friend. Can you please just remember me when you are famous and Ellen wants you on her show? 😉 Also, I LOVE Revenge. I watched the whole first season, and mostly just watched it because Emily’s beach house is SO beautiful. I found it very inspiring!
