Last weekend I sewed and photographed nonstop, like a crazy person, getting some new pillows added to the shop just in time for a Janery giveaway over at IHeart Organizing.
Here’s a peek at a few of the new pillows – I’m so madly in love with all of the fabrics, I’m trying to figure out where in our home we can fit them all in. 😉 Oh by the way – I’ve started making a lot of my square pillow covers to fit a larger, 20″ square pillow. I think the larger scale not only shows off many patterns better, but also fits many sofas much better.
Of course, you can always layer 18″ and 20″ pillows for an even more decorative effect.
The Robert Allen Freja Floral pillow covers come in three sizes – 20″ square, 10×16 lumbar, and 12×18 lumbar. I actually bought a sample of this fabric to make some items for our living room, and loved the oversized floral so much that I knew I had to add it to the shop.
Sidenote: this is one fabric that Ryan actually likes. . .
As for these chic gray and yellow sunflowers – I’ve been holding onto this fabric for a few months, but wanted to save them for after the wedding. Nothing says summer like a big yellow sunflower! These pillow covers also come in 20″ square as well as two lumbar sizes.
And I can’t forget to show you these absolutely adorable imported Japanese fabrics. They’re both great for either kids or fun-loving adults!
I made sure to cut the fabric for the Summer Safari pillow cover (20″) so that each side would fully display a different animal scene. One side has as a mama leopard and cub as well as a zebra family hanging out amongst the flowers. The other side has a different creature, kind of like a deer. It wastes more fabric to cut it out this way, but I want my customers to get as much of the awesome print as possible!
The Summer Bird Garden pillow cover is a wonderful complement to the Safari. The back (shown above) has trailing vines and flowers. But the front? So different – with birds resting a colorful garden.
And just in case you’re new to Janery or this blog – every single pillow cover is sewn with an invisible zipper and awesome fabrics on both sides. This means that you’ll be able to display both sides of the pillow – which is a must, in my opinion. The size is sewn slightly smaller than the pillow form it’s meant to fit, to ensure a nice snug fit. So which one’s your favorite? I’d love to know!

GORGEOUS, Jane! So glad to see Janery up and running again and your product photos are looking great. I especially love anything yellow & gray – these will be the colors for my renovated studio. (Not sure if I should put pillows in my studio though…don’t need to encourage sleeping on the job!)
ahh! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sunflower pillows. 🙂
I’m kind of obsessed with grey/yellow at the moment though…
I love them all but I particularly love the garden ones. LOVE THEM.
your new pillows are absolutely TO DIE FOR! I definitely entered IHeart Organizing’s giveaway, but I think I need to make some plans to buy a few after we finish our upcoming room makeovers! btw… do you have any of the woodland fabric left from the pillow I have?
