In the midst of sewing yesterday (gotta make over 100 products before the arts festival this spring!) I ran into a conundrum.
I need your help. In addition to dog and cat beds, I’m making some awesome coordinating pillows and pillow covers – and it seems there are several sizes of pillow inserts.ย You know I’m all about using what you have on hand, so I want my pillow covers to easily work for pillows my customers already have in the house.
I’ve done some research, and square ones come in 16″, 18″, and 20″ sizesย and rectangular ones come in 12 x 16″ and 14 x 28″.
Which sizes do you think are most common around the home?

Hi,
I saw your blog and wanted to respond to your question. Love your blog! The standard pillow I normally make is 16×16. I am on my way to your Etsy site. Good luck! :)Terri
I mostly have 16″ pillows.
Mine are all 16″x16″ but I use 18″ covers because I didn’t want to spend the time to return them!
The majority of mine are 18″, great size for naps. Not that I ever have time for those.
so…my square ones are 18 and 19 (or 20 if you count the fringe) – and I like the bigger size for naps, too ๐
I was recently awarded a fun, little blog award. I was asked to pass it along to a few of my favorite blogs. I chose you as one of them. ๐ As a seasoned blogger I am sure this is nothing new to you…but I still wanted to include you, as I enjoy reading your blog. Feel free to pass it along, but no pressure if it’s not something you’re up for. -Lauren @ http://www.ourbigfatfarmwedding.blogspot.com
i think 18″ are the most common in just about every ‘retail’ store. i happen to adore the larger, 20″. maybe a collection of both sizes and a few lumbar sizes to sprinkle in?
