7 Things About Me & Stylish Blogger Award

I was super flattered when Jenn from A Home in the Making passed on the Stylish Blogger award to me!

I’m supposed to share 7 things about myself, so here goes.  I have absolutely no criteria for what I’m sharing:

1. According to the man who hired me at my current company (about 5 years ago), I have “a healthy disregard for authority.”  Love that quote!
2. I love brussels sprouts and beets, but the smell of pea soup will make me vomit.  No kidding.
3. I’m going to Blissdom in a few weeks, where I finally get to meet my blog friend Katie from Making This Home!
4. I’ve found and/or fostered a lot of animals in my life so far:  19, to be exact.
5. Eat Pray Love is my favorite book.  It’s much better than the movie.
6. I studied music performance in college, and taught violin for about 8 years.
7. My house is not always neat and tidy.  Occasionally it’s downright messy.  But I prefer neat and tidy, so this year I am focused even more on keeping it orderly and putting things away immediately when done with them.

I’m also supposed to “pass” the award on to other bloggers.  Since I’m not generally one to follow the rules, I’m just going to give a shoutout to a few bloggers for absolutely random reasons, because I am sure there will be something for everyone in this list:

• Samantha from When Two Become One, who recently included my back porch “living room” in a post on her “dream blogger house.”
• Fresh Crush, who has a gorgeous stenciled bathroom.  I’d also like to throw in a quick congrats on their newly adopted baby!
• Mikalah at Posy the Porcelain Pig, whom I admire for  leaving her corporate job in December in pursuit of her dreams!
• Jen at Peas and Crayons, for making me eat my veggies.
• Kalanicut, who just found the coolest way to repurpose an old egg carton!
