My living room has a case of the drearies. For reasons I have yet to divulge, my living room furnishings have recently gone from this:
To this:
Something must be done. While I love the Wassily chair and the Barcelona coffee table, everything looks so drab and dreary. I’m thinking that some colorful throw pillows, a [small] glass end table, and a bright, cheerful rug are just the prescription to rid the room of its sadness. Now I just have to do it on a sensible budget. . . .
Of course, on a very bright side, I do now have a fabulous console surrounding, and hiding, my ugly wall heater.
Am I the only one who’s glad it’s almost Friday? I have so many projects I want to work on this weekend!!

I miss your end table set up from before – it was so cute! As for your drearies, your living room would be lovely with light grey and bright red accents. Some coffee table books and maybe a vase of something red (or a red vase!) I love the rug you have there already.
But I’m a sucker for what I perceive as mixed eras. I think it’s a fun look overall. And yes, the Wassily chair rocks.
Reds would be good. A pop of a bright color (like your refreshing green) would also be good. The chair & table look good, but without the personal touch to make it yours it almost looks like an upscale office waiting room. Minus one more couch. You can do it. I know you can.
I love this blog! What a great idea! I love decorating, thrifting, and pets too, so I’ve added you to our blogroll!
When I get sick of the way my stuff looks, I usually paint something. Even just the frame on the mirror. Or I rearrange the stuff on the walls. Or you could put a big, pretty green plant on the coffee table, since it’s glass. Plants always make things less dreary, IMO. Anyway, I’m sure you’ll think of something!
I agree on the pillows. That lime green in your house gets me every time. Probably because our dishes are about the same color. I love it!
