“Meaty” Grilled Brussel Sprouts

Tonight’s vegan grilling experiment resulted in tasty and filling results!

Grilled Brussel Sprouts

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 16-20 Fresh Brussel Sprouts
  • Olive Oil
  • Sea Salt
  • Pepper

Directions:

  1. Rinse sprouts.
  2. Chop off the hard ends of the sprouts, peeling any dull leaves in the process.
  3. Spear 4-5 sprouts per skewer, running the skewers through the topmost part of the sprout. (Note: attempting to spear straight through the middle will result in fighting with the skewer and sprout.)
  4. (Optional) Intersperse slices of red onion on skewers if you choose.
  5. Soak skewered sprouts in water for 15-30 minutes.
  6. Drain water, then use fingers to rub some olive oil until the sprouts are coated.
  7. Sprinkle with sea salt and fresh ground pepper.
  8. Place on hot grill and cover, turning skewers occasionally until the sprouts almost char on the outside.
