I wanted to do a separate post to share the recipe for Simple Syrup, since it’s such a bartending must-have. This way, every time I post a cocktail or mocktail recipe, I can just point you right here rather than having to write it out each time.
How To Make Simple Syrup:
- Put equal parts water and sugar (real sugar, people – not any of that Splenda nonsense) in a pan.
- Bring to a simmer and stir until the sugar is dissolved, leaving you with a light syrupy liquid.
- Pour the syrup into a clean jar or small airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
- The Simple Syrup will remain fresh for one week.
Voila! It’s that easy.
An interesting holiday variation, depending on what drinks you’re planning to make, is to add a cinnamon stick. Extra yum!
