I'm sure you would do a beautiful job making the cake (I can attest that the test cakes were delicious!) and altering the dress, but it's so much better to leave the stress of those two tasks up to someone else so you can enjoy your day (and not end up with frosting in your hair!). Plus, it sounds like you already have a lot of gorgeous personal DIY touches - no need to do *everything* yourself! Wise decisions, Jane!
