Guest Post: Jenn from Peas & Crayons

Today’s guest poster is Jenn from the fab foodie blog Peas & Crayons.   She’s got an incredibly positive and totally enthusiastic energy which absolutely shines through in her happy writing style.   Thanks, Jenn!
Hellooo Borrowed Aboders!
And also to all the P&C peeps who popped over to see what Jane and I are up to now!
I love a good home decor post, and what better place to share my decor shenanigans than on one of the first blogs I started reading forever ever ago!  I basically stalked this blog like CAHRAZY back in the day and quickly became BFFs with Jane b/c DUH she’s awesome!  Like really really awesome.  Have you seen the post she did for me about my window design dilemma?  She rocks my world.  End of story.
So! Are you ready to hear what I did!?

…or is it gray?  Wikipedia says both will do so I simply cannot commit to which spelling of the word I will honor.  Rambling, Jenn! Rambling!

Let’s enlist some help from the ever-fabulous Pinterest to talk about wall color.  Or the lack thereof?  Moving on!
Here’s a little peek at a few of the rooms that inspired me to spend hours staring at paint swatches:
So clean and classy. I love it!
Paul and I fell hard for a Glidden shade called Veil and decided it would be perfect for the entire first floor of our casa!
Glidden 00NN53/000 Veil at MyPerfectColor

Speaking of veil, here were some other color choices that had me cringing by name alone. Discreet Charm and Secret Affair, to name a few. Ugh!  Gross!

Then there were colors I wish I’d chose based on their name, like Aviator Silver or Fireworks.  Those would have been a tad fun to order =)  I guess wall colors aren’t as flipping fun as nail polish colors.  All the OPI and Essie addicts out there know what I mean!  Haute as Hello and Chihuahua Bites?  Yes please! <3

So I would LOVE to share some photos of our gorgeous grey walls but… we haven’t moved in yet!  So far I can tell you that this lovely color will be brightened up by a brilliant white trim and chair rail, a smashing white kitchen with speckled granite counter tops, and dark wood floors.  I can’t flipping WAIT!

Here’s what my abode looks like at the moment:
It’s missing a few things . . .
. . . but really, who needs appliances and grass when you have GREY WALLS!?   I’d move in tomorrow if they’d let me =)

Swing by my “Playing House” page to stalk the progress and stay tuned for the inevitable sequel to this guest post on Jane’s fabulous blog!

Thanks, Jenn!

I am loving, I mean LOVING, grey paint right now.  In fact my bedroom is going to be grey with punches of yellow just as soon as I can manage it 🙂

Well, hello there Jenn!  I came for Jane, but I’m happy to see you here!  My walls are gray.  As in, every single wall (except for the bathrooms, kitchen, guest room and basement).  They’re a bit darker than yours, and I absolutely love it, especially with white trim and woodwork.  I really like the shade that you chose!

I love grey walls!  My 12-year-old’s bedroom is painted grey and his furniture is one shade darker grey.  Love it!
