Ladies, grab your cameras!

Dear Readers,

You are cordially invited to participate in

The 2011 Redneck Yard of the Year Awards

Our first Blog Link Party

That’s right, on Friday we’re going to have a big ole’ blogger party at The Borrowed Abode.   A 2011 Redneck Yard of the Year contest & link party.  Want to join in?  Then grab your cameras and snap a few shots of the big, the bad, and the ugly that’s happened to your yards over the winter.

Don’t have a yard? Then snap some shots of your porch or other outdoor chilling spot.

What’s in it for you? Well, aside from the motivation that inevitably comes from sharing the worst nooks and crannies of your yard on your blog, there will be a prize for one lucky reader!  Hint:  It will definitely help in the sprucing up of the outdoor space.

Share it!

Oh I could win this! And I feel like should be embarrassed, not totally excited about that prospect. I’m in :)

It can be fun to revel in the awful “befores” so that we can enjoy the
    “afters” even more, right? :)

  • http://justabouthome.wordpress.com/ Liz

    Oh how exciting!

  • LifeinRehab

Oh God, the hot mess that I have outside…

  • Samantha @ Two Become One

Well, I’m in!! Just posted our post-winter before pictures of the yard on the blog last week.

I probably can’t win this. We only have a balcony…but I definitely want to post pictures of the rotten pumpkin still stuck to our table from the Halloween pumpkin disaster we had last year. ;) Love this!

    this is awesome!!! So excited!!!

Oh my. I am in. Especially in light of my curb diving today (please don’t tell my husband… he will have a coronary). Nothing like a torch under my bum to make a plan to rectify a “situation” like the back yard!

  • Lindsey

This is hilarious! I just finished tacking LSU curtians to my kitchen window and a crib sheet to my back door. Deliciously white trash. ;) In my defense, it’s our 3rd night in this house and every time I come down stairs I see my reflection in the door and it scares the bejeezus out of me. =)

  • Cait @ Hernando House

Ohmygod. Have you SEEN my backyard tour of dooooooom?!! That is totally getting entered!

  • mikalah

    Darn, I’m wishing I had a backyard!

  • http://www.theborrowedabode.com Jane @ The Borrowed Abode

Lindsey – that is awesome. I have had the SAME thing happen in past places
    - where I see my reflection at night and nearly have a heart attack, so I
    totally understand.

Renee- I’m kind of in the same boat. :) Right now our back porch is filled
with stuff we’ve snagged off curbs…because I want to fumigate it before
    bringing it inside!!

THis is our yard. a 16×16 pavered yard from the uber small deck. Its been like this for 3 years and I have NO clue what to do with it.

  • http://melanieandbeau.blogspot.com/ LintnerM

We post the pics here right? :) IM new to y’all . :)

  • http://www.theborrowedabode.com Jane @ The Borrowed Abode

Hi Melanie! First, welcome – so glad you stopped by!!

Second – for the blog link party, here’s what to do: If you want to
participate, you do a blog post on your blog with photos of your yard or
outdoor area. Then you’ll hop over to my blog on Friday (or Saturday,
Sunday, etc) and share the link to your blog – there will be a special tool
on my blog post Friday to let you share your link and a photo. That way
everyone can see what everyone else has done.

Hope this helps. Be sure to come back Friday for more details!
