Spoiled Rotten.

I’m sorry, but I was too busy being spoiled rotten Monday night to finish up my latest project and blog about it.

The boyfriend was off work for President’s Day.  I was not.  I arrived home to find a single rose taped to my front door:

(Sidenote:  Last summer, after one particularly rough day at work, I got into my car to discover a single flower on my windshield.  I couldn’t stop smiling just from the sheer randomness of it.  When he arrived at my house that night to take me to a surprise dinner, the rest of the bouquet accompanied it. )

Sure enough, this front door rose had a whole bouquet family waiting inside my house.  Fun.

 

But wait, there’s more.  He then informs me that we’re going to dinner at our favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant.  A very nice one.  Small, family-run, with homemade pasta and perfect cozy ambiance for this rainy, snowy night. Then he gives me this:

This little guy, from the Build-a-Bear store,  is named “I Told You So.”  Why?  Because when I squeeze his paw, I hear a recording of the boyfriend saying “Jane, I told you so!” in his wonderfully deep voice.  Inside joke.  Oh, and the dog brought chocolate.  Yum.

Apparently we were celebrating “I Love You” day, a holiday that he said he can celebrate on any day of the year where he is off work and has time to plan a surprise.  How cute is that?

But the best part of all this?  It’s not the  surprise, but the happiness I feel just having him in my life.  The whole spoiling me rotten bit is just icing on the cake.  Speaking of cake, stay tuned for the DIY project I’m working on for his birthday present!

PS:  that rose is still on the door.  Even though it’s starting to wilt, it makes me smile every day when I come home.
