Bring Some Bling with Blik

You’ve gotta love how far the world of design has come as far as decorating the borrowed abode is concerned. Remember back in the 90’s, when the only way to decorate a rented apartment (especially on the cheap) was to grab a few posters and framed art, tack them to the wall, and assemble some quick-n-easy furniture from Ikea? That is, if you were lucky enough to live in a major metropolitan area that had an Ikea.

Nowadays, thanks to the proliferation and “hipification” of Target, Ikea, and our good friend The Internet, it’s so much easier to transform a bland white apartment into a colorful haven where fun meets functional.

My current obsession, the cause of these deep thoughts, is Blik. As their tagline says, they offer “wall graphics for the commitment-phobic.” . . . but to me, they’re also perfect for the well-behaved tenant who just wants to spruce up their walls without paint.

Right now I’m practically drooling over the Anise design, shown here, in all white. The floral pattern is similar to that of the pattern on my daybed pillows. Can’t wait to get one set of these to finish off the walls of my guest room. But I’ll have to save up for these fancy stickers: at $65 a set, they’re not cheap.
